Prince Philip was honored on Tuesday, less than a year after his death on April 9, 2021. Celebrated for his career and his many services, the Queen’s husband was treated to a ceremony at the Abbey of Westminster, where members of the royal family and several foreign crowned heads met. Only Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, presumably retained in the United States, were missing. Among the guests – who included Prince Andrew among others – were Kate and William, who came with their two eldest children, George, 8, and Charlotte, 6. Louis, 3 years old, had not made the trip. If no official statement has specified the reason for this absence, several Internet users have rightly suggested that it was a question of age. Indeed, the young prince was not the only toddler to miss the event. Mike and Zara Tindall’s children, Lena and Lucas, 3 and 1, were also absent while their big sister, Mia, 8, attended the ceremony.
Tribute to Prince Philip: Kate Middleton chic in a polka dot dress
For this commemoration, the Cambridges had bet on dark colors, since William, George and Charlotte wore navy blue, while Kate had set her sights on black. The polka dot print was also in the spotlight since it was found on the boys’ ties as well as on the Duchess’s dress. The latter, signed Alessandra Rich, gave her model a very 80s look, due to her turtleneck and puffy shoulders. Its not-so-ridiculous price of £1,495 (€1,769) obviously didn’t put consumers off since it’s already sold out on the brand’s website.
