The officiating priest explained that it was the funeral of Sara Sanchez, 20, and her mother Fresia Calderon, 50, who died a month apart in November, of leukemia for the young woman and of a thrombosis on his return from a trip to Colombia for his mother. According to the first information released by the police, the shooter targeted the group from a moving vehicle. Witnesses said all were outside watching a dove break free when they heard gunshots. “A black car arrived and started firing bullets. It was chaotic! Said one of them. No one knew if it was a bomb or a gunman.”
A suspect has been arrested
“We were looking for places to hide. We all huddled in corners where we could. We left after about 10 minutes, I didn’t dare leave before,” he added still in shock. . A few days after this shooting, a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being the author of the shootings. “An investigation into this horrific attack is already underway involving local officers and specialist detectives. I can assure the communities of Camden and beyond that we will do everything we can to identify and bring to justice those responsible,” the official said. Superintendent Ed Wells. London Mayor Sadiq Khan called the shooting “deeply distressing”: “A police investigation is ongoing and I am in close contact with the Metropolitan Police to determine what happened.”
