It was in 1998 that Samantha Hopper was declared missing in Pope County, Arkansas. She was on her way to a concert in Little Rock, reports the Daily Mail. Clearly, missing since September 11, 1998, the car of this young mother has been found. It was in a lake in Arkansas that the vehicle was found the week of October 26, 2021. Human remains were found in the car. Note also Samantha was apparently 9 months pregnant at the time.

On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, unresolved business hunters called Adventures With Purpose discovered the vehicle. This is thanks to a Sonar device according to NBC News. The Pope County Sheriff’s Office said the car was found 8 feet underwater. The human remains were sent directly to the Arkansas State Crime Lab in Little Rock for DNA analysis.

Police do not know if it is a criminal act

The Adventures With Purpose group reportedly worked closely with the family to achieve these results. “Samantha was supposed to drop off her daughter Courtney Holt before going to a concert in Little Rock, but Samantha, her daughter and her blue Ford Tempo were never found,” the county sheriff’s office said in a statement. Until then, the police do not yet know if it is a criminal act, but this discovery is a big step towards closing the case.

In addition, Dez Carpenter, Samantha’s eldest daughter, made a statement of thanks through a memorial fund set up for the family. “After being reported missing for over 23 years, with the help of the AWP and Chaos Dive teams, we were able to locate my mother … and my 22 month old sister. It was such a relief to find her and we want to offer them a proper burial, ”she wrote.
