Joshua Broome… His name probably means nothing to you: this 39-year-old man is better known by his former pseudonym, Rocco Reed. He was, in his youth, a real star of the pornographic industry. Arrived in Hollywood in the early 2000s when he was only in his twenties, Joshua dreamed of a career in cinema. Alas, after several castings and as many refusals, he ends up being satisfied with the only sets that accept to welcome him: those of X films, where his physique and his measurements quickly seduce.

Artistically, it’s less brilliant, but very lucrative. By allowing him to shoot more than 1,000 films, the porn industry will make Joshua a millionaire. But mostly unhappy. “It was all lies and fiction, he testifies. I even wanted to kill myself, but I didn’t have the courage.” Crushed by an environment that left him “many emotional traumas”, he retired in 2012, at the height of his glory, and sank into depression.

“I had all the sex imaginable, but my existence was empty”

“I made well over a million dollars. I traveled everywhere I wanted. I had every sex imaginable. But once I had all that, my existence fell apart “The lifestyle I led only amplified the grief and emptiness I had always felt inside. I had literally lost track of who I was.” today. Joshua then chained the therapies as he once chained the partners. Compulsively, but without finding the slightest balance.

In 2014, an encounter will change his life. The woman who will change everything is called Hope (“hope” in English). This 30-year-old leads a healthy and very sporty life, participating in CrossFit competitions. And Hope will take Joshua as he is, without judging him, before awakening him to spirituality.

Now the father of three children, he preaches and teaches all over the United States

One thing led to another, by his side, Joshua ended up finding his way. In 2016, he married her and began to study biblical theology. Today, he has simply become a pastor (unlike Catholic priests, Protestant pastors can be married) at the Good News Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Now the father of three children, he preaches and teaches all over the United States. He also has a podcast and is followed by nearly 60,000 people on Instagram.

“It’s never too late to change what you do. Will it take hard work? Yes. Will it take time? Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely” , he pleads. “Today, I have built a life of which I can be proud, he concludes. You can let your past possess you or you can take control of it. I chose the second option and I encourage everyone to do the same in the way that is his.
