Tatum O’Neal placed in psychiatric hospital: Michael Jackson’s ex-girlfriend threatened to kill himself

This Sunday, October 11, 2020, TMZ announces that actress Tatum O’Neal would have recently had suicidal thoughts. Last month, she reportedly threatened to jump from the balcony of a house in Los Angeles. The police were alerted and went there to help him. The former girlfriend of Michael Jackson was transported to a local hospital, according to information from our colleagues and more specifically in a psychiatric unit.

The 56-year-old actress was thus subjected to a psychiatric evaluation. It all unfolded just weeks after Tatum O’Neal reunited with his father Ryan. Indeed, the actress had a complicated relationship with her dad from a young age, because of the latter’s drug use. He notably abandoned his children and would have even one day tried to flirt with his own daughter, whom he had not recognized. Thanks to time, Tatum O’Neal has finally forgiven him, even if their relationship remains complicated. It must be said that because of her childhood, she too fell into hard drugs. She has taken drug rehab several times after losing custody of her children. In 2008, police arrested him for possession of cocaine and crack in New York City.

A story that didn’t last very long

As a reminder when she was very young (in the 70s), Tatum O’Neal had a romantic relationship with Michael Jackson. In 2003 in the documentary Living with Michael Jackson, the king of pop said: “The first girlfriend I really loved is Tatum O’Neal”. However, the interpreter of Billie Jean did not feel “ready to assume the relationship that the young woman wanted”.
