The family of Rai-Lèyah Parveen Saddique is inconsolable. A few days ago, this healthy ten-year-old girl collapsed in her school. Before dying in the afternoon, the girl had spent a normal school day, British media report. Saddique Rai-Lèyah Parveen was taken to hospital from school in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The little girl was then transferred to a facility in the city of Leeds, but died in the early hours of Monday, November 14. According to initial findings, the 10-year-old girl died of a cerebral hemorrhage.

The 10-year-old child was, according to his relatives, in good shape and in good health before being the victim of this accident. She was also described as popular and well-known in her school setting and was the eldest of three siblings. “She was a hard-working girl who was loved by her family and friends,” said her family’s spokesperson. Hundreds of people attended his funeral at the Jamia Masjid Swafia mosque and then a funeral service at Wakefield cemetery for Rai-Lèyah Parveen Saddique, including friends and teachers from his school, which closed for the day out of respect.

Tributes multiply

“His school was closed on Monday. Students attended (his funeral) and flew balloons,” said a relative of the little girl. The death of Rai-Lèyah Parveen Saddique was announced by the Facebook page of the Muslim funeral service Janaza Announcements where hundreds of people wrote their prayers for the family. “Heartbreaking – she was a little beauty, a little angel. May Allah swt grant her the highest rank in Jannah, we will miss you very much, love you”, “I can’t even imagine what they are going through “Heartbreaking and tragic news, she is only a little older than our daughter and I can’t imagine the agony the parents must be feeling.”
