It’s an outfit that could have gone completely unnoticed. Last June, Sophie from Wessex visited the headquarters of the Childline, a telephone line which denounces violence against children in the United Kingdom. A service that was very much in demand during confinement, and that the countess wanted to thank for her efforts, in person. Always impeccable and wearing a bun, Prince Edward’s wife had however bet on an amazing dress.
Indeed, it is dressed in a lattice print dress that the mother of Louise and James, cinched at the waist. An outfit that suited her perfectly and gave her a modern look, however far removed from the classic and colorful outfits that women of the British royal family are generally adept at. A dress that should not have shocked the monarchy, however, which emerged from the photos of this visit during the interview with Sophie de Wessex granted to the magazine Good Housekeeping UK.
Sophie de Wessex’s “Subtle Changes”
Long relayed in the background of the British monarchy, Sophie of Wessex has been for several months much more on the front of the stage, especially since the departure of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry from the monarchy. Thus, if she multiplies more appearances, these are also more scrutinized, from where in particular small changes in her wardrobe. Borrowed from a rather “classic” wardrobe, she has for several months “made subtle changes to her wardrobe to create a more royal look”. “Although Sophie loves colors, she often plays it safely with the same style and length,” said stylist Melita Latham. It was still daring to wear the fatigues, never seen in the royal family, except on Prince Harry, during his military service, or Prince George, on the photos of his 7th birthday.
