Shortly after the incident, Jess, one of the victim’s friends, confided in Sky News. “We went for a drink, we were at the bar and we just heard detonations, like fireworks (…) We had danced and sang and we saw her on the ground” she said told. Quickly, help was called to the scene and cardiac massage was performed to try to save the young woman, without success.
Two people arrested and taken into custody
After the death of Elle Edwards, Merseyside Police appealed for witnesses before announcing the arrest of two suspects on Monday December 26. “We have made arrests in connection with this cold-blooded shooting,” Detective Sue Coombs said. According to initial information, it would be a 30-year-old man who is suspected of murder and attempted murder and a 19-year-old woman, suspected of conspiracy to murder. The two suspects were taken into custody.
For her part, local councilor Lesley Rennie gave information about the shooting. According to her, the murder of the young beautician “appears to be a completely random act of violence as people enjoyed Christmas Eve, with family and friends”. The investigation should shed light on this terrible tragedy.
