Lucci Smith, a 29-year-old mother, lied to Cambridgeshire Police about the murder of her son Teddie. 11 week old baby Teddie was beaten to death by her mother’s boyfriend Kane Mitchell, 31. Kane Mitchell killed little Teddie in the most gruesome way and inflicted several wounds on him. According to Mirror magazine, Kane Mitchell smashed the head of Lucci Smith’s baby on a hard surface. The magazine reports that this evil man abused the baby from the day he was born.
Teddie’s mom Lucci Smith has repeatedly lied to Cambridgeshire Police in footage from Channel 4’s 24 Hours in Police Custody. In these footage from November 2019, the 29-year-old mother is seen claiming that she cared about her baby more than anything. She also said Kane Mitchell was not little Teddie’s biological father, but lived with her and her other children at their family home in St Neots. “Smith was on his way to school when Mitchell fatally attacked her baby,” Mirror said. “But she did not dial 999 until more than 30 minutes after being asked to do so,” the magazine continues.
Baby Teddy’s Fatal Injury Looks Like Baby P’s
Ms Smith did not provide clear answers to police when asked how her baby son suffered all of these fatal injuries. “If that was the case, I would say he is my son and that he means more to me than anyone,” she replied. Camera footage shows Kane Mitchell sobbing, holding Teddie in her intensive care unit while saying, “Come on my baby, daddy’s here.”
And because of “his 17 broken ribs, broken skull and collarbone, as well as brain, spinal and eye damage,” police compared Teddie’s injuries to injuries to Baby P, a baby boy from 17 months dead following acts of mistreatment. Lucci Smith was sentenced by the judge to a two-year community sentence. As for Kane Mitchell, it is life imprisonment, with a minimum of 18 years.
