Kim Taylor, a 73-year-old woman, was a volunteer with Cultivate Care Farms, a farm located in Bolton, MA. On Saturday, December 4, while she was feeding the cattle, a sheep started hitting her several times. According to the Bolton Police report to NBC and the Boston 25 News, these attacks took place between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. Shortly after help arrived on the scene, Taylor went into cardiac arrest. She was rushed to hospital immediately, but succumbed to her serious injuries.

Cultivate Care Farms issued a statement on Monday, December 6 stating that Kim Taylor was alone in the pen when the incident took place. The statement claims that no one witnessed the incident. “We are heartbroken and devastated by the death of our valued volunteer,” the statement read. Megan Moran, the farm manager, recalls that Taylor was “adored by everyone who worked with her during the 14 months she volunteered on the farm.”

The investigation into the death of this volunteer is ongoing

According to US Today, Cultivate claimed that “security measures are continually being reviewed.” The farm also says it is working with investigators to determine the details of the circumstances that led to Kim Taylor’s death. For their part, the family of the deceased would like their mourning and their privacy to be respected. In the statement from the family shared by the farm, it read: “In this very sad time, we ask everyone to respect the privacy of our family during the mourning of this sudden tragedy. Cultivate has continuously given our mother so much of joy through his volunteerism, and we are comforted by that. “
