The daughter of musicians, Sia was rocked by the sound of rock music throughout her childhood, her parents having notably participated in the group The Soda Jerks. Her father was also a member of the Australian band Men at Work, which was a worldwide success in the 80s.

Born on December 18, 1975 in Adelaide, Australia, Sia Isabelle Kate Furler was first part of the group Crisp with whom she produced two albums. In 1997, she left Australia to settle in London and released her first solo album, OnlySee. At the same time, she was discovered as a backing vocalist alongside Jamiroquai and Massive Attack. But it is her first single, Taken for Granted, released in June 2000, that made her famous as she reached the tenth place of sales in the United Kingdom. In 2002, Sia released a second album, Healing is Difficult, whose success is notably due to a single, Breathe Me, which is part of the soundtrack of the Six feet Under series. If the singer made five studio albums between 1997 and 2010, it was the album released in 2014, 1000 Forms Of Fear, which propelled her to the top of the sales charts, mainly thanks to the single Chandelier, a worldwide success known as much for its rhythm as for its video clip, featuring a little dancer of only 12 years old, Maddie Zingler.

On October 4, 2019, she revealed on social networks that she has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a rare genetic disease.

On the private side, Sia has been married since August 2, 2014 to a director, Erik Anders Lang. But in December 2016, the couple announced their separation. In May 2020, she reveals that last year she adopted two 18-year-old boys. In June 2020, during a show on Apple Music she reveals that one of her sons is the father of two newborn babies.
