Born on August 19, 1983 in Cape Town, South Africa, she grew up in Port Elizabeth, where her parents Barry and June moved when she was a child. She graduated in law – she obtained a Bachelor of laws in 2005 at the Nelson Mandela University – and she wanted to become a lawyer. However, her modeling career, which began at the age of 14, brought her faster recognition. She regularly collaborates with the magazine FHM, and becomes the muse of the cosmetic brand Avon. She then continues with the presentation of TV shows, including on the channel Fashion TV, and participates in a reality show shot in Jamaica, Tropika Island of Treasure 5.
In 2012, she met the disabled athlete Oscar Pistorius on the Kyalami racetrack. They make their relationship official in November. On February 14, 2013 the body of the model, riddled with four bullets, is found at the home of the athlete in Silverwoods, a chic suburb of Pretoria. Oscar Pistorius was arrested and charged with the premeditated murder of his girlfriend the next day. One year after the tragedy, the trial of the Paralympic medalist opened on April 7, 2014 in Johannesburg. Oscar Pistorius has always claimed his innocence, explaining that he thought he had shot a burglar. He faces up to 25 years in prison. Verdict in May.
