Rafael Nadal was born on June 3, 1986 in Manacor, Spain. Very early on, young Rafael became passionate about sports, first of all soccer (he was in awe of his uncle Miguel Ángel, a defender for FC Barcelona) and then basketball, which he played for a short time, before taking up tennis at the age of 4. Very soon Nadal shows himself gifted for this discipline. His first official competition was in the Balearic Islands, which he won at the age of 8.
He went on to win many other tournaments in his category, before joining the ATP World Tour and becoming a junior semi-finalist at the Wimbledon tournament in 2002. On the private side, he shares the life of Maria Francisca Perello (Xisca). In January 2019, the couple announced their engagement, celebrated in May 2018 in Rome. On October 19, 2019, the couple got married in Mallorca.
