Director, screenwriter, producer and major actor of American cinema, Quentin Jerome Tarantino was born on March 27, 1963 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Although he had little interest in school, Quentin became passionate about film and briefly took acting classes. From 1983 to 1989, he worked in a video rental store in California, where he discovered many genre films.

Tarantino’s filmography, an avid cinephile since his adolescence, is marked by an encyclopedic knowledge of cinema. The filmmaker began with the independent works Reservoir Dogs (1992) and Pulp Fiction (1994), which won the Palme d’Or at Cannes and Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars. This was followed by Jackie Brown, the diptych Kill Bill, Boulevard of Death, Inglourious Bastards and Django Unchained, which won another Oscar and a Golden Globe for Best Original Screenplay in 2013.
