Nick Cordero was born September 17, 1978 in Hamilton, Canada. Nick Cordero attended Ryerson University in Toronto for two years. He then stopped his studies to sing with the band Lovemethod.
He made his Broadway debut in various shows such as The Toxic Avenger (2009), Rock of Ages (2012)… But it was the role of Cheech, in 2014, that launched his career. His performance in Woody Allen’s musical Bullets over Broadway earned him a Tony Award nomination and a Drama Desk Award nomination for Best Lead Actor. He eventually won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Actor in a Musical and a World Theatre Award for the same role.
Subsequently, the actor appeared in various musicals, such as in 2016 in the show Waitress, and in Bronx Tale. He also appears in the cast of many television series, such as Blue Bloods and New York Special Unit.
Affected by coronavirus, he is hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on March 31, 2020. Plunged into a coma for several weeks, he died of the disease at the age of 41 on July 5, 2020.
On the private life side, the actor is married since September 2017 to Amanda Klootz. Together, they have a son, Elvis, born in June 2019.
