Mike Tyson is one of the greatest boxers in history. Born in 1966 in Brooklyn, the American built his legend on his ability to knock down his opponents. Out of 58 professional fights, “Iron Mike” has 50 victories including 44 by KO. A true myth of the rings, he was the first boxer in history to unify the world heavyweight belts of the various organizations at the end of the 1980s. But Mike Tyson is at least as well known for his punch as he is for his borderline behavior in and out of the ring. In 2007, the American media ESPN awarded him the title of “most unworthy sportsman of the last 25 years”. In 1992, he was sentenced to six years in prison after being found guilty of rape on Desiree Washington. He finally got out in 1995, released for good behavior, and resumed boxing. However, Mike Tyson was unable to regain the supreme title. He ended his career in 2005, at the age of 39, after accumulating $300 million in revenues in the rings. His spectacular victories and celebrity made him the richest boxer in history, but the American ended his career in ruin.
