Michael J. Fox was born on June 9, 1961 in Edmonton, Canada. As a teenager, Michael dreamed of becoming an ice-hockey player but finally devoted himself to acting. The young man tried his luck in Los Angeles and ran through the castings until he landed a recurring role in the series Sacred Family in 1982. Michael’s talent was rewarded with a golden globe and three emmy awards. This first success allows him to be noticed by Robert Zemeckis who entrusts him with the role of Marty McFly in the science fiction trilogy Back to the Future. Michael then turns to darker roles to break his image of wise young man and is the poster of Outrages by Brian de Palma in 1990. But a personal tragedy prevents the young actor to continue his career. Michael is indeed suffering from Parkinson’s disease and is forced to leave the series Spin City which he was one of the main protagonists. However, he made his comeback on the small screen in 2013 by creating his own series inspired by his life: the Michael J. Fox show.
On the private side, Michael married Tracy Pollan, who played his girlfriend in Sacred Family, with whom he has four children.
