Leonor de Bourbon and Ortiz was born on October 31, 2005 in Madrid, Spain. Eldest daughter of the King of Spain, Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain, she has one sister, the infante Sofia (born in 2007). On January 14, 2006, the little princess was baptized in the Royal Palace of Zarzuela during a public ceremony. Her godfather is her paternal grandfather, Juan Carlos of Spain, and her godmother is her paternal grandmother, Sophie of Spain. She attends the Santa Maria de Los Rosales College in Madrid.
Princess Leonor has held the first place in the order of succession to the Spanish throne since June 19, 2014, when her father Felipe succeeds Juan Carlos of Spain. She then receives the title of Royal Highness Princess of Asturias.
Little by little, the royal couple associates the Crown Princess with protocol. In November 2016, she attends for the first time the opening ceremony of the Parliament in Madrid.
On January 30, 2018, the Princess of Asturias received the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece, the most illustrious order of chivalry in the kingdom, from the hands of her father, who celebrates his fiftieth birthday on the same day.
