Lawrence Harvey Zeiger was born in Brooklyn on November 19, 1933. His parents are Jewish emigrants from Belarus. The little boy, nicknamed Larry, grew up in New York. At 9 years old, he lost his father. This brutal disappearance affected the family a lot and Larry lost interest in school.

At a very young age, he developed a passion for radio. At the end of the 1950s, a CBS news anchor advised him to go to Florida where the radio market was booming. On May 1, 1957, the young man made his dream come true. His first radio show was broadcast in Miami. He becomes a local star.

In 1960, he begins his career on local television. In June 1985, it is the consecration. Larry King presents Larry King Live on CNN. He interviews many personalities. He often invites controversial personalities on topical issues. His direct and impartial approach makes him a legendary figure in journalism. At the same time, he holds a column in USA Today. His collaboration ends in September 2001.
