She is the irresistible Samantha Jones from the cult series Sex and the City. From 1998 to 2004, she put a smile on the world’s face with this exuberant character, friend of Carrie Bradshaw and a nympho in her own right.

Born on August 21, 1956 in Liverpool, UK, Kim Cattrall grew up in Canada and then moved to the United States.

A graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York, Kim Catrall made her television debut. She has been seen in Columbo, Starsky and Hutch, The Incredible Hulk and Funny Ladies.

In the 1980s, the actress appeared on the big screen with Police Academy (1984), The Adventures of Jack Burton in the Claws of the Mandarin (1986), The Return of the Musketeers (1989) and The Burning of the Vanities (1990). But it was his return to the small screen in 1998 that brought him his best role: that of Samantha Jones in the hit series Sex and the City, a role that earned him a Golden Globe in 2003. Since the end of the series in 2004, Kim Catrall has become rarer. Apart from a few appearances in Ice Princess (2005), The Tiger’s Tail (2006) and My Son Jack (2007), she has had to wait until Sex and the City is back on the big screen to regain the top spot. In 2010, she returns to her character of Samantha in the second installment of Sex and the City.

On the private side, she has often talked in interviews about her idea of marriage and also about her two divorces, but she remains famous for her preference for men younger than her. She has published a book entitled Sexual Intelligence.

A native of Liverpool, Kim is an avid fan of the Reds team and is even good friends with the player Steven Gerrard. We know less but Kim Cattrall is very close to the French actress Isabelle Huppert and this since the shooting of Rosebud, a film by Otto Preminger. She plays in Davina Jackson’s Sensitive Skin, in the cinema in 2014.
