Born into a family of six children, Kevin is the youngest child of a professor, a liberal political activist and a famous city planner in Philadelphia. At the age of 17, he left Philadelphia to train in a New York City theater circle, where he was revealed as a rebellious dancer on the frenzied rocks of Footloose, and where he made bold cinematic choices. His disquieting and angular face serves the troubled and violent characters of Mauvais Piège, La Rivière Sauvage and Sleepers. Playing his magnetism in JFK, Des Hommes D’Honneur and Mystic River, he obtains in 2003 (between two albums of his blues band, The Bacon Brothers) his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Married for 20 years to actress Kyra Sedgwick (heroine of the series The Closer), the couple and their two children live in Manhattan.
