As a child, Juan Arbelaez dreamed of becoming a chef. Originally from Colombia, where he spent his youth, he decided to pursue his dream and flew to Paris in 2008.

He joined the Cordon Bleu school to study French cuisine. A brilliant student, he finished first in the school’s competition which allowed him to continue his apprenticeship with renowned chefs. First, he worked with Pierre Gagnaire and joined the kitchens of the Hotel Balzac. He then joined Eric Briffard’s team at the George V and Eric Fréchon’s team at the Bristol.

In January 2012, he participated in a show on M6, the third season of Top Chef, the culinary competition of the channel.
