Jean Todt was born on February 25, 1946 in Auvergne. This car enthusiast tinkers with cars in a garage in Asnières with his friends as a teenager. In 1966, he became Guy Chasseuil’s co-driver and his sense of strategy allowed him to co-drive alongside champions Rauno Aaltonen, Hannu Mikkola and Jean-François Piot. In 1981, he becomes vice-world champion of the rally drivers’ world with Guy Fréquelin and retires from competition. Jean takes over the sports management of Peugeot, whose image is to be restored. From 1985, his work is crowned with success: the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 Group B becomes double world champion. After winning the Le Mans 24 and the Paris-Dakar at Peugeot, he is recruited by the prestigious Ferrari team. As Managing Director of the Scuderia Ferrari, he convinces Michael Schumacher to join the team and thus ensures numerous victories. In 2009, Jean ran for the presidency of the International Automobile Federation and won the position. He renews his mandate in 2013.

Jean Todt made an appearance in the film Asterix at the Olympic Games alongside Michael Shumacher, long before the latter spent six months in a coma. Accomplices, the two men played a tank driver and his team leader.

On the heart side, Jean met actress Michelle Yeoh in 2004. Love at first sight is instantaneous and Jean supports his girlfriend by producing the films in which she stars, including The Lady in which she plays the Burmese opponent Aung San Suu Kyi. Jean Todt’s son Nicolas, born of a first marriage, is a pilot agent like his father. He works in particular with Felipe Massa and Jules Bianchi.
