Jason Bradford Priestley was born on August 28, 1969 in Vancouver, Canada. Son of actress Sharon Mason, he has a twin sister, Justine. From an early age, the brother and sister were attracted to the stage and began acting in commercials.
At the age of 17, the aspiring actor made his big screen debut in the feature film Head in the Clouds. From 1987, he obtains many small roles in series; Supercopter, 21 Jump Street, MacGyver, Code Quantum… Little by little, he is noticed and, in 1990, he obtains one of the main roles in the series Beverly Hills 90210. The role of Brandon Walsh allows him to be revealed to the general public and the success of the series brings him a certain notoriety, like the other actors of the series, Luke Perry, Shannen Doherty or Jennie Garth. The series also allows him to add a new string to his bow since he directs about fifteen episodes between 1993 and 1997.
After his departure from the series Beverly Hills 90210 in 1998, the actor continues the projects. He gets secondary roles in movies, and devotes himself mainly to the small screen by shooting many TV movies. Passionate about car racing, he competes at a high level but a serious accident on a circuit in Kentucky in August 2002 makes him give up his passion. He continues his career on the small screen and joins the series Tru calling: Countdown between 2004 and 2005. In 2010, he plays the lead role in the Canadian series Call me Fitz for four seasons. In 2016, he is in the cast of the series Raising Expectations with Molly Ringwald. Since 2016, the actor plays in the series Private Eyes.
Jason Priestley also directs many TV movies; Kiss tomorrow goodbye, Subs, Intime danger, The most beautiful gift… In 2009, he directed an episode of the sequel to Beverly Hills; 90210 Beverly Hills: New Generation. In 2013, he directed his first feature film Cas and Dylan, starring Richard Dreyfuss and Tatiana Maslany, which won several festival awards including Best Film at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2014. In 2018, he directed an episode of the series Ghost Wars.
On the private side, Jason Priestley shared the life of actress Christine Elise between 1992 and 1997. After a brief union with Ashlee Petersen, he met Naomi Lowde in 2001. The couple married in May 2005, and gave birth to two children: Ava, in 2007 and Dashiell, in 2009.
