Jane Fonda is an American actress and producer born December 21, 1937 in New York City. Very committed, the daughter of the great actor Henry Fonda first made a name for herself through her stances in favor of the Black Panther African-American revolutionary movement and against the Vietnam War and the war in Iraq. She is also an incomparable actress in Sydney Pollack’s We Finish Well the Horses, Hal Ashby’s The Return of Hal Ashby, and Alan J. Pakula’s Klute, roles that earned her nominations in many film competitions and two Oscars for best actress. Jane Fonda is an icon of New York feminist women in the 1960s and 1970s. It was partly her political involvement that brought her closer to French director Roger Vadim, her former husband, and Michel Piccoli. In 2007, she was awarded the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival for her entire career. It must be said that when she decided to give up filmmaking in the 1990s, she made about forty films, including some by Otto Preminger and Jean-Luc Godard. Independent cinema and the aspiration for Freedom have always guided her steps. So today, at over 70 years old, she is an accomplished woman whose ideals of peace are still present. She looks back on her journey in an autobiography published in 2005 and which became a bestseller: Ma vie (My life, So Far).

On the private side, the actress married French director Roger Vadim in 1965, but the couple divorced in 1972. The couple has one daughter, Vanessa. She then remarries Democratic Senator Tom Hayden (1973-1989). Together, they have a son, the actor Troy Garity and adopt a daughter. In 1991, Jane Fonda marries in third marriage the American press magnate, Ted Turner, whom she divorces in 2001. In 2009, she found love again on the arm of producer Richard Perry. But in January 2017, Richard Perry announced the separation of the couple after eight years of living together.
