James Van Der Beek was born on March 8, 1977 in Connecticut. This son of a former Los Angeles Dodgers baseball player was destined for comedy at an early age. The young man discovers his path after playing Danny Zuko in the musical Grease at the age of 13. He then decided to run for Broadway castings and landed an acting job in Shenandoah when he was only 16 years old. Despite a lead film role in Angus in 1995, the young man didn’t really get recognition until three years later when he was chosen to play the main character in the sentimental series Dawson. After the series was discontinued, the actor sought to break his image as a romantic young man and starred in The Laws of Attraction based on the work of Bret Easton Ellis. Since then, the actor has multiplied his appearances in TV movies and series.
On the heart side, the handsome blond man married actress Heather McComb in 2003. The couple broke up in 2009 and James fell in love again in 2010. He joins forces with Kimberley Brook with whom he has four children. In February 2018, James Van Der Beek announced Kimberly’s fifth pregnancy. On June 17, 2018, the family expanded with the birth of a little girl named Gwendolyn. On October 7, 2019, he announces that his wife is expecting their sixth child. But in November 2019, he reveals on Instagram that his wife had a miscarriage at four months of pregnancy.
