In 1996, James made his stage debut in the musical Martin Guerre, which allowed him to combine singing and theater. The following year, he landed his very first film role in 24 Hours a Day, and has been playing minor roles in various films ever since, such as Whatever Happened to Harold Smith? (1999), All or Nothing (2002) where he plays under the direction of Mike Leigh, and in Heroes and Villains (2006). After a stint in the universe of Alexandre Dumas and his Three Musketeers (2011), he gives the line to Meryl Streep and Chris Pine in Into the Woods in 2014.
At the same time, the actor is mostly noticed on television through the series Fat Friends where he appears in about twenty episodes between 2000 and 2005. In addition to his talents as an actor, James became a world star by becoming the host of his own talk show, The Late Late Show with James Corden. Every night, he interviews many celebrities and makes the audience laugh thanks to his various columns that have become famous, including the Carpool Karaoke and the 6 minutes where stars have to replay many scenes from their movies in a few minutes.
On the private side, he has been married to Julia Carey since September 2012. They have two children; a boy, Max (2011) and a girl, Carey (2014). On December 12, 2017, the couple expanded the family with the birth of a third child, a little girl.
