A young mother in heaven. On June 10, 2020, Iggy Azalea tasted the joys of motherhood for the very first time. The Australian-born rapper welcomed
Born in 1990 in Sydney, Australia, Iggy Azalea, whose real name is Amethyst Amelia Kelly, grew up in a modest family with her mother, a housekeeper, and her father, a comic artist. When she was only 16, she left her native Australia for the United States and arrived alone and without money in Miami, determined to pursue a career in music.
After some time spent in Houston, it is in Atlanta that Iggy Azalea takes up residence. She met Backbone, a member of the Dungeon Family, and thus took her first steps in the world of hip-hop. Far from her own, she nevertheless draws inspiration from her roots to choose her stage name: Iggy is the name of the family dog, and Azalea is the name of the street in which she grew up. Her talent being quickly recognized by her peers, Iggy Azalea moves again to Los Angeles, where she will record her first music video, Pu$$y, followed by her first mixtape, Ignorant Art.
In 2011, Iggy announces the release of her debut album, The New Classic. After a few setbacks with the production company Interscope, she decides to join forces with Grand Hustle Record, an independent label. The release of the record will unfortunately be postponed to April 2014. However, some tracks such as Bounce and Change your Life are released in the meantime and are very well received by the public.
In parallel to the preparation of The New Classic, another nice surprise awaits Azalea. She is opening for the Beyoncé Mrs Carter Show tour during October and November 2013, which allows her to be known by a very large audience. Upon its release, The New Classic enters in third place on the Billboard 200.
