Prince Felipe of Spain was born in Madrid on January 30, 1968. He has two older sisters: Elena, born in 1963, and Christina, born in 1965. He is the heir to the crown according to the Spanish constitution which gives priority on the throne to men.

Felipe of Spain is training for a military career mainly in the naval forces of his country. He also studied abroad. After studying law in Madrid, he joined the prestigious Georgetown University where he completed his studies with a Master’s degree in International Relations. He is fluent in several languages, including English and French. A sports enthusiast, Prince Felipe is particularly well known in skiing and sailing, where he has won competitions.

On May 22, 2004, he married the journalist Letizia Ortiz. They had two daughters: Leonor in 2005, and Sofía in 2007. The couple enjoys a favorable public opinion thanks to their simple and dynamic lifestyle and their professional and charitable commitments.
