Born February 21, 1987 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Ellen Page began her career at the age of 4, when she began participating in numerous school plays. By the age of 10, she had appeared in several television movies and series: Pit Pony, ReGenesis, Mrs Ashboro’s Cat. Her last two roles have earned her two Gemini Awards for Best Actress.

More generally, her television performances have been recognized by a Young Artist Award, an award intended mainly for children. She then landed several roles on the big screen. Her brilliant performance in Marion Bridge (2002) earned her another ACTRA Maritimes Award for Best Actress. Her talent is beginning to be noticed by professionals.

On February 14, 2014, Ellen Page revealed her homosexuality during a moving speech at a conference organized in Las Vegas by the LGBT gay association. On January 3, 2018, she announced on social networks that she had married her partner Emma Portner.
