Dustin Diamond was born on January 7, 1977 in California, where he soon demonstrated a certain talent for comedy. His parents felt that he had a future in television and soon had him running for casting in Los Angeles.
Their perseverance paid off when, in 1987, he landed his very first role in The Price of Life. Young Dustin also made a brief appearance in one of Pee-Wee Herman’s films, Big Top Pee-Wee (1988). In 1992, he really stood out when he landed the role of Samuel “Screech” Powers in the series Saved by the Bell. This series is a real success in the United States, making Dustin a star of the small screen.
He resumed his role in Saved by the Bell: The High School Years in 1994. After the series stopped after one season, the young man struggles to find roles. Dustin gets only appearances in movies and television, he also plays his own role in the TV movie Sex and Addictions in 2001. Five years later, he makes a name for himself by directing his own sex-tape Screeched – Saved by the Smell but the actor denies being present on the video, explaining that he used a dubber for the majority of the scenes. In 2014, the actor is arrested for possession of edged weapons. He spends three months in prison but on his release, he is arrested a second time for violating the conditions of his probation.
In 2017, Dustin gets noticed by playing Harvey Weinstein, the movie producer, in a video clip of the group TENLO.
On February 1, 2021, the actor died at the age of 44 from lung cancer.
