Donald Trump was born on June 14, 1946 in Queens, New York. His parents enrolled him in a military academy to channel his adolescent energy. Upon graduation, he enrolled in an economics course and graduated from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania, before joining the family real estate business. Donald learned the business under his father’s guidance, and soon became a gifted businessman.

In 1983, he built his first skyscraper, the Trump Tower, a landmark in the New York landscape. At the head of a financial empire, Donald Trump erected prestigious buildings that bear his name. A decade later, during the real estate crisis of 1990, he was faced with multi-billion dollar debts and nearly went bankrupt. But the luxury real estate magnate pulled through and bounced back. In 2005, his group was once again facing bankruptcy because of its Atlantic City casinos, but he saved his business in extremis. From then on, the savvy entrepreneur multiplied the number of partners in order to minimise the financial risks and developed a licensing system that allowed him to put his name on skyscrapers without owning them. At the same time, he allows his group to diversify into ready-to-wear clothing, the creation of golf courses, or professional training (Trump University and then The Trump Entrepreneur Initiative since 2010).

As a media man, the businessman decided to create and co-produce a reality TV show, The Apprentice, in 2004. It was an immediate success and the show broke audience records (28 million viewers on the evening of the final of the first season). Donald Trump took the game and took the lead in presenting the game for several seasons. An extravagant character, his popularity continues to rise. The concept was adopted in many countries.
