Chris Pratt was born on June 21, 1979 in Virginia, Minnesota. Coming from a modest background – his mother Kathleen is a cashier and his father works in construction – Chris is the youngest of three siblings. He spends his free time drawing superhero characters. He grew up in Lake Stevens, Washington State, and in his teens, unlike his classmates, he developed a passion for wrestling rather than American football. A waiter in a Hawaiian restaurant, he is discovered by chance by a director, Rae Dawn Chong, who offers him a role in the thriller Cursed Part 3 (2000).

Chris Pratt passes unnoticed on the big screen but he decides to continue in this way. His perseverance paid off, and two years later he made his debut in several television series, landed a recurring role in Everwood, appeared in Newport Beach, and since 2009 he has played the immature bushwhacker Andy Dwyer in Parks and Recreation. At the same time, he has been collecting supporting roles in films such as Wanted (2008), Best Enemies (2009) and A Hell of a Night (2011). But it is the role of a baseball player in 2011 in The Strategist that will radically change his image. Among the prestigious cast, from Brad Pitt to Philip Seymour Hoffman, Chris Pratt – who lost several kilos for the role – is doing very well. His talent is recognised and the directors give him more varied and fleshed out roles. In 2013, he stars in Zero Dark Thirty by Kathryn Bigelow and Delivery Man by Ken Scott. The actor doesn’t hesitate to model his body, whose weight fluctuates according to the roles (he weighs 140 kilos for the shooting of Delivery Man). In 2014, Marvel Studios gave him a role in The Guardians of the Galaxy, the sequel to which has already been announced for 2017. In 2015, his role in Jurassic World will propel him to the ranks of Hollywood’s new sex-symbol.

On the private side, the actor shares the life of actress Emily VanCamp, whom he met on the set of Everwood in 2004. But the couple split up two years later, and Chris Pratt fell in love at first sight with actress Anna Faris. Their wedding is celebrated on July 9, 2009. The couple has a little boy, Jack, born on August 25, 2012. In July 2017, the couple announced their separation. Their divorce is pronounced in October 2018. On January 13, 2019, he announced his engagement to Katherine Schwarzenegger on his Instagram account. On June 8, 2019, the couple married in California.
