Chadwick Boseman was born on November 29, 1976 in South Carolina. After graduating from Howard University in Washington, D.C., the young man developed a passion for comedy and went on to run for casting.

He landed many small television roles, often in court or police series (New York 911, The Experts in Manhattan or Cold Case: Closed Cases). He got his first film role in 2008 in The Express. In 2012, he plays a lieutenant in the action film The Kill Hole. The following year, his interpretation of Jackie Robinson, the first black baseball player in 42, earned him critical acclaim. It wasn’t until 2014, however, that the young actor really made a name for himself. He was chosen to play the funk pope James Brown in Tate Taylor’s much-anticipated biopic Get On Up.

In 2016, he joins the cast of the big mythological production Gods of Egypt in which he plays the deity Thot. From then on, he multiplies the roles; Captain America, civil war (2016), Black Panther (2018), Avengers: Infinity war (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019). In 2020, he was featured in two films; Da 5 bloods and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

On August 28, 2020, the actor died at the age of 43 from colon cancer, diagnosed in 2016.

On the personal side, he shares the life of Taylor Simone.
