Daughter of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, Catharina-Amalia Beatrix Carmen Victoria of the Netherlands was born on December 7, 2003, in The Hague. The eldest of three children, she has two sisters, Princess Alexia and Princess Ariane. She entered the prestigious Christelijk Gymnasium Sorghvliet in 2015 to attend high school.

Despite her title as Crown Princess of the Netherlands, Catharina-Amalia travels to her school without bodyguards and by bicycle. In order to preserve their daughter’s school life as much as possible, her parents have forbidden journalists to take pictures of her. Although she speaks mostly in Dutch, she sometimes speaks Spanish with her mother.

Catharina-Amalia of the Netherlands is also a sports enthusiast. She regularly participates in activities such as horseback riding, dancing, judo and field hockey. Music is one of the passions of the princess, who plays the violin.

In October 2020, the revelation of the salary of 300,000 euros that Catharina-Amalia of the Netherlands will receive when she comes of age in December 2021, triggers a controversy among the population.
