Daughter of Debbie Reynolds, star of the film Singing in the Rain and Eddie Fisher, Carrie Ficher was born in Beverly Hills, California on October 21, 1956.

Two years after her first movie role, in the romantic comedy Shampoo, Carrie Fischer had an audition that would change her life forever. In 1977, and until the end of her life, she will remain in the popular imagination as the interpreter of Princess Leia Organa, sister of Luke Skywalker and daughter of Darth Vader, in the film series Star Wars – Star Wars. Following the worldwide success of the first part, released in 1977, Carrie Fischer resumed her role in The Empire Strikes Back in 1980 and The Return of the Jedi in 1983.
