Camilla Luddington was born on December 15, 1983 in Berkshire, England. Passionate about comedy, she studied at the American School in Surrey before moving to the United States when she was 14 years old.
Thanks to her years in the USA, she managed to adopt an American accent, which would later help her land roles in Hollywood. She returned to England for a time before joining the New York Film Academy in 2003. After graduation, she multiplies the castings before getting her first contracts as an extra in the film A Couple of White Chicks at the Hairdresser in 2007 and then for more important roles in the series The Forgotten and The Experts in 2010.
In 2011, young Camilla saw her career take off when she was chosen to play Kate Middleton in the TV movie Kate and William: when it all began, a TV movie made just in time for a broadcast a few weeks before Kate and William’s wedding. Followed by more than a million viewers, it allowed the young woman to make herself known and to play a series of roles on American television. After a tour of Trueblood and Californication, she joins the cast of Grey’s Anatomy in 2012 to play Josephine Wilson, a new surgeon and Alex Karev’s girlfriend.
