A former American decathlete, Bruce Jenner is now known for his participation in the reality show The Incredible Kardashian Family. He has been married three times and is now the father of six children.

Born on October 28, 1949 in Mount Kisco, New York, Bruce Jenner turned to sports at an early age. During his teenage years, he played American soccer, but was forced to choose another sport after a knee injury. He was admitted to the University of Graceland, Iowa, where he took the advice of a track and field instructor and began playing decathlon. He competed in his first university competition in 1970 and had a remarkable performance, scoring close to 7,000 points. Two years later, Bruce Jenner was part of the American selection for the Olympic Games in Munich. He finished the decathlon competition in a respectable tenth place.

In 1974, the athlete joined the University of San Jose, California, where he received advice from some of his country’s top track and field coaches. In 1975, Bruce Jenner set a new decathlon world record with 8524 points, a score he would improve the following year at the Montreal Olympic Games. For his second Olympiad, the American won the gold medal and broke the world record once again. These performances will allow Bruce Jenner to obtain a notoriety which exceeds the sporting framework.

On the private side, his marriage with Kris Houghton in 1991, ex-wife of lawyer Robert Kardashian, allowed him to participate in several seasons of the Incredible Kardashian Family. The couple has two daughters, Kylie and Kendall. Bruce Jenner has four more children from his two previous marriages to Linda Thompson (Brandon and Brody) and Chrystie (Casey and Burt). Separated from Kris in 2013, Bruce Jenner began a process of gender reassignment. Their divorce is pronounced in March 2015. In June 2015, after his surgery, he appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine and announced his new name; Caitlyn.
