Nicknamed the “Little Dragon”, Bruce Lee was born in San Francisco’s Chinatown in 1940, the year of the dragon. He grew up in Hong Kong, where he began studying martial arts, primarily wing chun, at the age of 13. He finished his schooling in the United States, where he studied philosophy and met his future wife, Linda Emery. He started teaching martial arts, first kung fu, before creating jeet kune do, or “the way of the intercepting fist”.

In 1964, Bruce Lee is filmed in full performance of kung fu. This little film earned him a small role in the series The Green Hornet, which met with little success in the United States, but became a reference in China. In 1970, forced to abandon all physical exercise after a back injury, Bruce Lee returned to Hong Kong where his film career really began with the film The Big Boss in 1971. The following films, The Fury of Overcoming, The Fury of the Dragon and Operation Dragon made him an international star and an undisputed master of martial arts cinema. Died of a cerebral edema in 1973, during the shooting of The Game of Death, Bruce Lee remains the major influence of many actors such as Jackie Chan, Chuck Norris or Jean-Claude Van Damme.
