Boris Johnson was born on June 19, 1964 in New York City to English parents. He spent his childhood between his hometown, Brussels and London. He followed a brilliant school career; European School of Brussels, Eton College and then Balliol College of Oxford in England, where he studied Classics and Philosophy.

Initially a journalist, Boris Johnson joined the Daily Telegraph in 1987. He was correspondent in Brussels from 1989 to 1994, then editor-in-chief until 1999. He then worked for The Spectator as a political columnist and then as editor-in-chief until 2005. He makes regular television appearances, which have earned him a real public reputation.

Selected by the Conservative Party, Boris Johnson was elected to the House of Commons in 2001. He won London City Hall in 2008 and again in 2012. He founded the city’s self-service bicycle service, the Boris Bikes. He was re-elected to the House of Commons in 2015.

In 2016, Boris Johnson is one of the most ardent supporters of Brexit. He was appointed Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs by Prime Minister Theresa May, a position he held until July 2018. He ran for the leadership of the Conservative Party after the announcement of Theresa May’s departure in June 2019. On 23 July 2019, he was elected head of the Conservative Party against Jeremy Hunt, and on 24 July, he became Prime Minister.

On 27 March 2020, he tested positive for coronavirus and went into isolation at 10 Downing Street. On 7 April 2020, he was placed in intensive care, following a worsening of his health. After several days in hospital, he was discharged and returned to 10 Downing Street on 26 April 2020.

On the private side, Boris Johnson is married to lawyer Marina Wheeler. They have four children; Lara, Milo, Cassia and Theodore. But in September 2018, the couple announced their separation after twenty-five years of marriage. On February 18, 2020, their divorce is pronounced. On February 29, 2020, Boris Johnson’s spokesman announced the Prime Minister’s engagement to his girlfriend Carrie Symonds. The couple is expecting a child. On April 29, 2020, Carrie Symonds gave birth to a baby boy.
