Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell was born on December 18, 2001 in Los Angeles, California. She comes from a family of Irish actors and musicians. Her parents, Maggie Baird and Patrick O’Connell, are actors, writers and musicians. She has an older brother, Finneas O’Connell, born in 1997. She grew up in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, where she was home-schooled. From an early age she had a passion for singing. At the age of 8, she joined the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus. At the age of 11, she began writing her first songs. At the same time, she was diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome, a neurological disorder characterized by tics. Determined, the young girl perseveres in the artistic path she has chosen.

In March 2016, her brother, lead singer of the band The Slightlys, wrote the track, Ocean Eyes, and offered her little sister to sing it. The track released on the SoundCloud platform quickly became a listening success. In August 2016, she signed a contract with the label Darkroom. In the wake of this, Billie released her first EP, Don’t Smile at Me, in 2017. One of the tracks, Bored, is selected for the soundtrack of the series 13 Reasons Why. The popularity of the series allows the young singer to get noticed.

Billie Eilish starts her first world tour, and will perform in France in July 2020, during the Lollapalooza Paris Festival.

The singer is chosen to sing the soundtrack of the 25th James Bond movie, Dying Can Wait, in theaters in April 2020. She becomes the youngest singer-songwriter to do so.
