Autumn Kelly was born on May 3, 1978 in Montreal, Canada. She grew up in Pointe-Claire in the suburbs of Montreal, surrounded by her two brothers, Chris her twin, and Kevin the oldest of the siblings. Her father worked for an electrical company. Her parents separated when she was a child and her father remarried and gave birth to two more children, Jessica and Patrick.

In 2002, she graduated from McGill University with a degree in Oriental Language and History. At the same time, to pay for her studies, she took on odd jobs as a bartender, model, hostess and actress. In 1996, she tried her hand at acting and made a brief appearance in the film Rainbow. Afterwards, she got a small role in the series Sirens.

In June 2003, she met Peter Phillips, grandson of Queen Elizabeth of England, during the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Canada. Peter Phillips was working for the Williams team and Autumn was an event planner for BMW. She then took a job with a computer company and moved to London. Four years later, the couple’s engagement was announced in July 2007. Raised in the Catholic religion, Autumn Kelly converted to Anglicanism before the wedding. The couple married on May 17, 2008 in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, and started a family with the birth of two daughters; Savannah (born on December 29, 2010) and Isla (born on March 29, 2012).

Peter Phillips does not hold any royal titles and the couple does not make any official engagements for the Crown, but the couple regularly appears alongside the Queen on the balcony of Buckhingham, at important events such as the annual Trooping the Color parade.

On February 11, 2020, Peter Phillips announced that he was separated from Autumn Kelly. The official announcement follows a news published by The Sun newspaper the day before.
