Born in Baltimore in 1976, Anna Faris grew up with her sociologist father and her teacher mother. Even as a child, her parents encouraged her to pursue her passion for acting. She first appeared on stage at the age of 9 in an Arthur Miller play, Danger: Memory, and later in an adaptation of Don’t Kill the Mockingbird at a Washington theater. After graduating from college with a degree in English literature, Anna Faris began her acting career by appearing in commercials.

In 2000, she got the role of Cindy Campbell in the parody Scary Movie. The film was a resounding success, revealing Anna Faris to the general public. She played in the next four installments.
