Rio Mavuba is a happy man. For good reason, he is lucky to be able to make a living from his passion: football, while being able to count on his family, and in particular on his wife, Elodie. While the latter always takes the background and had to step aside to allow her man to lead the best possible career, this time, it is she who will be in the spotlight. Indeed, she is one of the wives of footballers who will be found in the program Champions: families of footballers, from Monday, June 7, 2021, on TFX. “In the past fifteen years, in this environment, I have seen all the colors”, she indicated in the columns of Télé Star, before adding: “I just want to show that we are different from the image we have of us as creatures who spend a large part of their time shopping. “
It was in 2006 that Elodie’s route crossed that of Rio Mavuba, at Bordeaux airport. Love at first sight was immediate. If she was a model at that time, she did not hesitate to stop everything to be able to follow her lover to Villareal in Spain, then to Lille. “I knew he would need me. It’s important to feel good at home, especially when you go to play abroad,” she explained at the time. For Rio Mavuba, Elodie’s support was essential. He found the stability and love he needed by her side as he lost his mother at the age of two.
Elodie Mavuba is a mother
Very much in love, the couple had two children: Tiago, ten years old, and Aliyah, four years old. For his part, the football player, who ended his career in 2018, was already the happy dad of a girl, Uma (15). Today, Elodie Mavuba occupies a large part of her time by organizing the big charity concert which takes place in Lille every year, in favor of the Orphelins de Makala association, created by her husband.
