Hard blow for Queen Silvia. On Monday February 15, the Royal Palace of Sweden announced the emergency hospitalization of the wife of King Carl Gustaf, reports The Express. After a fall at Drottningholm Palace, she was rushed to a hospital in the municipality of Danderyd, in Greater Stockholm. After several examinations, fractures were noted, like several on the queen’s right wrist, who however “feels good” has assured those around him and has since been able to return to her royal home.
“The queen unfortunately fell at Drottningholm Palace and cushioned the fall with her right hand,” Margareta Thorgren told Svensk Dam. It was alarmed by a pain in the wrist after her fall that Queen Silvia asked to contact the emergency services. “The pain made her realize that she needed medical attention, so she went by ambulance to Danderyd hospital,” adds the information officer of the Royal Court. Fortunately, this injury was quickly taken care of, and Queen Silvia should have no trouble recovering, she who now ensures all her commitments by videoconference.
A new baby in the Swedish royal family
A bad time to pass for the wife of King Carl Gustaf, who will soon be a new grandmother. Last December, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia announced that they were expecting their third child, scheduled for early spring 2021. “We are happy and looking forward to welcoming our third child, a brother (or a sister) to Prince Alexander and Prince Gabriel. A new little member of our family, ”they wrote on Instagram. A future baby who, like his brothers, should not have royal titles, these being now reserved for the children of Crown Princess Victoria.
