King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain have been invited to a state bank. This on the occasion of the closing of the 1st day of the state visit to Sweden. It was at 8 p.m. that the sovereigns put on their finest clothes. They then joined the White Sea Hall to be greeted by the 90 guests invited for the occasion.

To be magnificent was an understatement for Queen Letizia who wanted to show the importance of this state visit. Indeed, the monarch chose a midnight blue dress from H & M’s Conscious line for the occasion. As the centerpiece of her outfit, she wore the Fleur de Lys tiara. Exactly as Queen Sofia did during the state visit to Sweden in 1983. Also known as La Buena, this is the largest tiara in the Spanish safe. This tiara was created in 1906 by court jeweler Ansorena. It served as a wedding gift from King Alfoson XIII to his wife Queen Victoria Eugenia. This tiara is one of the jewels of Pasar.

Queen Sofía had made this jewel the main diadem of the royal family. Besides, she had carefully selected the occasions to wear it. It was mostly reserved for state visits to other monarchs. A tradition that Queen Letizia has perfectly respected. Moreover, the queen waited almost 3 years to present the pieces during the state visit to Argentina in 2017.

During this state banquet, Queen Letizia also donned other pieces of the Joyas de Pasar. She had notably worn the earrings as well as the bracelets of the set. As with all of the Joyas de Pasar pieces, these earrings have been worn by Queen Sofia on several occasions.
