Fourth in the order of succession to the British throne, Princess Charlotte occupies an important place within the British monarchy. And this is likely to increase in the years to come. Indeed, when Prince William, second in the order of succession behind Prince Charles, Princess Charlotte will be given a new title. Indeed, the one and only daughter of William and Kate will become Princess Royal Charlotte.
And for the moment, this title is only awarded to the eldest daughter of the incumbent monarch, and thus only held by Princess Anne, eldest daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, as revealed by The Mirror newspaper. Note, however, that only one person can hold the title of Princess Royal. However, the title is not assigned automatically. Princess Anne waited 20 years before obtaining this title.
Which members are in order of succession?
With regard to the other members of the British royal family, sixth in the order of succession to the British throne, Harry has, except true massacre, no chance of reigning, one day, over England. Indeed, in the list, he is behind his father, Prince Charles, his big brother, Prince William, and his three nephews and nieces, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. However, this sixth place makes him one of the emblematic figures of the royal family, just like Prince Andrew, the Queen’s second son and eighth in the order of succession.
