This Saturday, August 8, 2020, Princess Beatrice of York celebrated her 32th birthday. For the occasion, her little sister Eugenie, two years younger, wished her a happy birthday on her Instagram account. Jack Brooksbank’s wife shared two photos, one of which was taken the day before Beatrice’s wedding and the other is from their childhood, in which they both hold their mom’s hand: Sarah Ferguson.
“You always wear a scrunchie or a hair accessory (since the 90s) and we always have huge smiles on our faces,” writes Eugenie Victoria Helena fondly of her name. As a reminder, Princess Beatrice of York has recently been in the news recently as she married Count Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. The ceremony took place on July 17, in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip. The lovers, who have presumably been dating since March 2019 and got engaged on September 26, 2019, have been united by the sacred bonds of marriage within the All Saints Chapel Royal located at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.
A bride who paid homage to her grandma
For the happiest day of her life, Princess Beatrice wore a particularly symbolic outfit because her white dress belonged to the Queen of England. It was designed by Norman Hartnell in 1962. Elizabeth II had worn it during the first screening of the film Lawrence of Arabia, but also at the opening ceremony of Parliament. British designer Angela Kelly adjusted and modernized the dress, including adding short organza sleeves. The princess accessorized the whole thing with a diamond tiara which was worn by her grandmother at her own wedding.
