The Duke of Cambridge is now considered a senior member of the British royal family. Prince William will be 40 years old on June 21, but we already know the magnificent gift that the Royal Mint has concocted for him. Prince William will appear alone, for the first time, on a coin. Several variations of the piece will be on sale. Prince William’s portrait will feature on a commemorative £5 coin.
“It appears that the portrait in the coin was based on a photo of William taken in 2018 at the UK Ambassador’s residence in Amman, Jordan,” The Mirror says. The Royal Mint, the official coin producer of the United Kingdom revealed images of the coin on May 23, 2022. We see the portrait of Prince William accompanied by his monogram and his age: W and 40. The mention HRH: THE DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE is also engraved in relief. On the front of the £5 coin bearing the image of Prince William, there is the drawing of his grandmother Elizabeth II.
