Prince William confides in the saddest of his memories

As Lord High Commissioner of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, Prince William assured a new engagement this Saturday, May 22 in Scotland. The opportunity for him to deliver rare confidences on the death of his mother Lady Diana, as revealed by the American magazine People. He had learned of his mother’s death in 1997, during a stay at Balmoral Castle. His saddest memory. “I was at Balmoral when I was told my mother had passed away. Still in shock, I took refuge at Crathie Kirk’s mass that morning,” the Duke of Cambridge said. “And in the dark days of grief that followed, I found serenity and solace in the Scottish outdoors. As a result, the connection I feel with Scotland will be forever deep.”

This same memory was quickly overwhelmed by a happier moment: his meeting with Kate Middleton, which took place 20 years ago according to Prince William. His wife will join him in Scotland on Monday, May 24. “Needless to say, the city where you meet your future wife holds a very special place in your heart,” he continued. The unforgettable Lady Diana will be the subject of a new tribute in Westminster, in July 2021 and in the presence of her eldest son (that of Prince Harry remains to be confirmed, in particular due to the climate of conflict between the Sussexes and the royal family of ‘England).

It is therefore with a thought for the princess of hearts that the 38-year-old duke sent a cash message to the BBC, after an investigation devoted to the interview with Lady Diana carried out by the journalist Martin Bashir and broadcast on the show Panorama. According to these investigations, the latter misled the deceased in order to gain her confidence for the sole purpose of collecting her shocking confidences which tarnished the reputation of the royal family of England. “I am of the opinion that the deceptive manner in which the interview was obtained significantly influenced what my mother said,” Prince William said in a video relayed on Twitter. “The interview was a major contribution to the worsening of my parents’ relationship and has since injured countless others.”
